Larakay (Laura Tóth) is a Dutch pop artist with Hungarian roots. Born in Hungary in 1996, she was adopted at the age of one by a Dutch-Hungarian couple. Growing up in the Netherlands gave her the opportunity to develop into the person and artist she is today. In 2019, Larakay performed at WOO HAH! Festival, and in 2020 she graduated from the Herman Brood Academy. After years of collaborations and featured appearances, she has accumulated more than 30 million streams. Many people have heard her voice without realizing who the artist behind it is. Since 2020, Larakay has been independently releasing her own music. Her sound is best described as pop, infused with influences from indie, hip-hop, reggae, and Romani ("Gypsy") music—reflecting an important part of her heritage and identity. Lyrically, her songs often explore darker thoughts and emotions, while the production brings uplifting energy and feel-good vibes. This contrast lies at the heart of her artistry: dark thoughts with a happy face.
